BRITISH PHANTOM AVIATION GROUP
We’re pleased to unveil our latest charitable collaboration with the British Phantom Aviation Group, a UK-based non-profit, volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II in British military service.
Established in 2013, the group comprises ex-RAF personnel and aviation enthusiasts who collaborate on restoration projects, educational initiatives, and public displays. BPAG is actively restoring three significant F-4 Phantom airframes which have been relocated to BPAG's facility at Cotswold Airport (formerly RAF Kemble) in Gloucestershire, where restoration efforts are ongoing.
F-4J(UK) ZE360: Originally serving with the US Navy, this aircraft was later transferred to the RAF and is one of only two surviving complete F-4J(UK) airframes. BPAG acquired ZE360 in 2019 and has been working on its preservation and restoration.
FGR.2 XT905: This aircraft served as a training aid at North Luffenham until 2013. BPAG is undertaking its restoration to display condition.
FG.1 XT597: A pre-production model used extensively for trials and evaluations, XT597 was acquired by a BPAG member in 2019. BPAG is managing its restoration.
We thoroughly enjoyed capturing the three aircraft in this patch alongside the iconic Phantom mascot. To find out more and support BPAG please visit bpag.co.uk
